CCA graduate Susan Schroder started Cushion Works in April of 1982 with a vision to provide quality custom pillow and cushion inserts for the design trade, furniture manufacturing and the public. Over the decades we have assisted in thousands of projects, working closely with our clients to insure that the result is both comfortable and a perfect fit.
We are proud of our experienced and dedicated staff. Teresa, our seamstress extraordinaire has been with the company since the very beginning and sews every tick for every pillow and cushion (with the help of shop cat Cupid). Gary joined in 1993 and sees to sales, design and accounting. Evelyn, who has been with us for a mere 20 years, does all the cutting with precision. Together we make a dynamic, flexible team, ready to manufacture just about anything you can imagine.
Originally built to house the Klopstock Bros Furniture factory, our location in the Mission District is a historic 1907 three story building at 3320 18th St. between South Van Ness & Capp. It is convenient to the Design Center and the 18th St and Valencia St. food gulch.
